After 58 years of marriage in 2020 we found ourselves on a new journey in life. In addition to the covid pandemic, Jim was diagnosed with cancer. After much prayer and research we were led to Mayo Clinic. Our next task was to find a place to live for 30 days. Prayers were answered and we were led to Serenity House Network. Looking back we can see our Heavenly Father had come before us to prepare the way. We are so grateful for the wonderful care Jim recieved at Mayo. We are equally thankful for SHN. When we first walked into Henry House (Lottie Apartment), we knew it wasn’t just a house; but a home. We immediately felt comfortable and at home here. From the lovely furnishings, comfortable bed, and well supplied kitchen, we had what we needed.

Greg and his staff were always available and accommodating. They were quick to respond when our TV stopped working. There is no doubt that we would recommend SHN to anyone needing a home away from home while in Rochester.

Thank you Greg and staff for your caring concern and prayers while we were in Rochester for radiation.

Thank you Serenity House Network! We had everything we needed at the Erin apartment. Mike had a liver transplant and our daughter was the living donor. She was able to stay with us after the surgery.

Family and friends were able to come visit on the patio to keep everyone safe from covid-19.

Thank you for the awesome bread and for letting me play in the flowers, it felt like home.

I’m not sure how people are chosen to stay in these apartments. Our downstairs neighbors were just amazing. Situations like ending up with the perfect neighbors make it clear that faith and the Lords work is being done here at Serenity House Network. We hope this ministry continues for many years to come,

Mike and I were here at Cliffy for just over 3 weeks. We were in Rochester for 4 weeks for his stem cell transplant. It has been a journey for us, but having a Serenity House Network apartment has been an anchor for us. It was a comfort to have our own place that was clean and very comfortable. When we needed a shower chair Greg brought it right away.

I will recommend SHN to anyone coming to Mayo for treatment.

Serenity House Network has been a blessing to us. We were so fortunate to have found a wonderful place to stay during my treatment. I ended up with complications and SHN worked with us to extend our stay with them. We have stayed here for 3 months and are so grateful that we had all comforts of home. It has been our safe haven during the corona virus.

We stayed here with Serenity House Network in Quincy for two weeks while my husband recovered from his live kidney donor transplant from his brother. Both brothers and their caregivers (their wives), enjoyed the time in your home.

The home was well equipped and very close to the park, walking paths, downtown and Mayo. We all felt very comfortable during these uncertain times.

Please continue to keep up the good work!

We were really apprehensive about booking the Cliffy apartment sight unseen. Jane was scheduled for major surgery and our stay was to be for many weeks.

When Greg met us we were very impressed not only with him but our new home away from home. It was a relief. The chocolate and the delicious bread were a wonderful touch. The homeyness and cleanliness surpassed all our expectations. Wonderful place to recover- so thankful for the lift chair. Mobility after surgery was a real issue, but the chair and the walk-in shower were extremely helpful.

We will recommend the Serenity House Network to everyone that stays in Rochester!

I don’t know if there are adequate words to express our gratitude. You have truly provided a home here.

When we first realized how long we’d need to stay in Rochester I was filled with such panic and dread. Now we both feel so content, comfortable and peaceful here, all thanks to SHN. After reading many other entries it’s clear that many other families feel the same. You’ve inspired us to pay it forward when we leave.

To other families who may read this:

We are cheering you on in spirit. You must be experiencing some truly life altering things as we are. Like Greg says, “No one comes here because they have a paper cut.”

My mom Wendy is fighting glioblastoma and we came here for a second brain surgery and a clinical trial.

I hope the calm, clean setting of SHN helps you as it has helped us.

Endless thanks to SHN and strength to those after us.

We appreciated a home away from home for 13 days.

My husband was recipient of my donor kidney. We stayed at Quincy with our caregiver, my sister and my husbands daughter. It was nice to be in walking distance to a grocery store and restaurant.

The kitchen was well stocked with all meal-prep items, like utensils and pots and pans.

It was nice to be comfortable together as a family.

We are headed home to Spokane, WA and my sister heads back to Chicago.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the Serenity House Network staff. Greg it was a great blessing to work with you. Your kindness meant so much. Joanna, it was wonderful meeting you. You’re a great lady and bring laughs. We thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for the Quincy house. It was a fabulous stay and so helpful to all of our family. During our dad’s cardiac surgery and recovery SHN allowed us a home to come to for rest. We were able to celebrate the holidays together and prepare dad a Christmas meal.

The house was a blessing and we could not be more grateful or feel so blessed to have had this opportunity of the Quincy home. Thank you SHN for everything!
