Mae Apt. 2017: Extended stay medical lodging for a Mayo Clinic patient and family in Rochester MN

December 20, 2016

What a blessing Annie’s House has turned out to be! I was unable to stay at other transplant lodging because my primary caregiver (my sister) has an 8-month old baby girl. Serenity House Network allowed me to have my caregiver, be close to retail, and close to Mayo Clinic. Plus, (healthy) babies are the best medicine. Thanks SHN for everything! Sincerely,

Bryan Feuerhelm, Julie Parker and baby Maria

Twin Pines 2016: Fully furnished house for Mayo Clinic bone marrow transplant patient and family in Rochester MN

December 16, 2016

We stayed at the Twin Pines home for three months as my husband went through a bone marrow transplant. The house has everything you need. It’s nice that the kitchen is fully stocked with all the items you need to cook.

I worked remotely for my job and the office was a nice place to work – especially with the natural light from the sunroom.

We have two small children who are 3 years old and 6 months old. They came to visit every week-end along with Grandma and Grandpa. The sunroom was nice for our 3 year-old to play in during the warm months.

We even hosted Thanksgiving with 12 family members.

Three months ago Twin Pines was just a house. Today it feels like home. We hope this house provides as many memories for you as it has for us.

We felt very fortunate to have this great place to stay during my bone marrow transplant. It is the perfect size, cozy, fully furnished with everything you need, and private. The privacy was very special to us while dealing with a difficult situation. Thanks so much to Serenity House Network for providing such a wonderful place with bone marrow transplant patients, and their families, specifically in mind. We are very grateful for all of your hospitality.

Patrick Apt. 2016: Fully furnished apartment in Rochester MN for bone marrow transplant patient and family

December 1, 2016

Words cannot express how thankful we were to stay at the Serenity House Network! We have been here in Rochester since October 14th and we can finally go home! We only live an hour away but we needed to be in Rochester for an extended stay after my husband’s bone marrow transplant. We were blessed to stay at the SHN’s Pine Tree Place House for 5 weeks, then moved to SHN’s Johnston House and finally here to SHN’s Serenity House. Greg was so helpful in providing us a home when our dismissal kept getting delayed. God’s blessings to you, Greg, and your staff for what you do every day.

Blessings,

Cliffy Apt. 2016: Extended stay lodging in Rochester MN for Mayo Clinic cancer patient and family

November 23, 2016

We truly enjoyed our stay. We spent about 4 months here. We loved the Welcome Bread on move-in day and also the birthday cake on my birthday. We highly recommend Annie’s House to anyone being treated at Mayo for chemo or whatever. Jodie and Greg are super wonderful, too.

Pine Tree Place 2016: A long-term stay for a Mayo patient with non-hodgkin’s lymphoma

November 18, 2016

My husband was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma last January. Since then we have made MANY trips to Rochester from our home in southern Minnesota. He received his stem cell transplant on November 2 — things are going slowly but are progressing. It has been a God-send to have this home at Pine Tree Place to stay at! We felt very safe here, and the neighbors are friendly. The home is very “transplant” clean with all kinds of sanitary items here.

A special thanks to Greg & Jodie and the entire Serenity House Network staff for a nice place to stay and for comforts of “home” away from home. We are hoping to go home before Thanksgiving … God willing.

God’s blessing,

Evy’s House 2016: A private home rental for a stem cell transplant patient and family

November 18, 2016

We stayed here while my husband had his stem cell transplant for multiple myeloma. We have an 8 year old daughter, so having a home where she could join us was important.

We all felt very comfortable here — went for daily walks, enjoyed the area parks, loved shopping at HyVee, went to Flapdoodles for ice cream, and enjoyed Rochester.

It was hard to be away from our home, but staying here made things much easier on us all.

Thank you Serenity House Network for all that you do. You made this difficult time much easier for my family and me.

Blessings to you,

Sierra Apt. 2016: Short-term housing for a Mayo Clinic patient and family

November 14, 2016

My name is Nicole, and my husband Josh and I are from Michigan. We traveled to Mayo Clinic the first in September to remove the cancer that was found. Doctors thought I would not need any further treatment once I was discharged. After returning back home, I learned that pathology reports showed I needed radiation which was going to require a 7-10 day stay. This was very scary for us financially. We are a young family with two small children, and staying in a hotel was going to cost so much.

After a little research, I was so lucky to have found Serenity House Network. Everyone was so kind and helpful right from the beginning. The Sierra Apt. far exceeded our expectations. I had some crummy days of feeling pretty bad so it was so nice to have my own space downstairs.

Thank you so much for making this time so much easier on us.

God bless you all,

Nicole & Josh Mavis
