Evy’s House is private home located in a quiet, residential neighborhood a few minutes drive from Mayo Clinic. This fully-furnished home is all main-floor living aside from the additional half-bathroom that’s located in the basement. In addition to the living room, eat-in kitchen, and bedrooms, there is also a laundry room on the main floor with a small office space. Two detached garage stalls with remotes are included.

Our story starts back on Christmas Eve 2011 when we received a call telling us my husband, then 52, had Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. We were in disbelief and wanted to seek a second opinion which brought us to Rochester. My husband underwent the testing and treatment and began the 3-month check-ups.
In June 2013 the lymphoma was back with a vengeance causing paralysis on the right side of his body putting him in a wheelchair. We traveled every other week from Wisconsin for his treatments for 4 months. He was a good candidate for a stem cell transplant which brought us to Serenity House Network.
It was a true Godsend the day I found Serenity House Network on a Google search. I emailed them and Greg returned my call right away. He informed me they had a home coming into the network and it was handicapped-accessible and would be available on the day our transplant was scheduled!
Evy’s House has been our home-away-from-home. Every day we would travel back and forth to the Clinic and know home was a short distance away.
My husband was fortunate to go through the transplant with no problems. He continued his physical therapy and made sure he kept up his strength. He is not out of the woods with the paralysis but he will continue his therapy to regain what the cancer took away from him. We pray that in 2014 and the years to come he remains cancer-free.
